General Rules:
1. No leaving the normal boundaries of a Map.
2. No shooting while Roadie Running.
3. No use of the Chainsaw on yourself.
4. No Land Surfing
5. No Skydiving
6. No Airwalking
7. No Instant Chainsaw.
8. No Canceling the Chainsaw Animation.
9. No performing the Chainsaw Animation with a weapon other than the lancer.
10. No looking at an opposing Team's TV or projected screens by Players or Coaches.
11. No starting Games until all Player's status has been Set to Ready.
12. Breaking any of the above rules will result in a Forfeit of the Game.
13. Any sign of cheating may result in a Forfeit of the Game and possible ejection.
14. The Team that doesn't Host will choose to play as the COG or Locust for each Game.
15. Quitting out of a Round will be considered a suicide. If the Host quits out of a Round their Team will Forfeit the Round. If the Host quits out of a Round, the Game will continue with the appropriate Round Score (updated with the Forfeited Round) and Teams will be set to play the next Round starting on the appropriate side of the Map.
16. All Players must play as a different COG or Locust Character.
17. Players must use their registered Login Name during all Games. No Team Name abbreviations are allowed.
23. In the case of an Xbox 360/TV malfunction, the Game will be reset with the appropriate Round Score.
24. Games started without the approval of a referee will be restarted.
25. If a Team fails to report to their Station within 5 minutes of the announcement, they will Forfeit the first Game. 10 minutes after the announcement, a Team will Forfeit their Best of 3 Game Match.
Disqualification
1. Any team not abiding by the above rules will be warned once at a penalty of losing their current round of match play. A second warning will result in a team losing an entire match. A third warning will be disqualification from the tournament.
2. Any use of illegal controllers is grounds for disqualification.
3. Any cheating of any form will not be tolerated.
Legal Controllers
Only Microsoft official WIRED 360 controllers will be accepted. No third party controllers will be allowed at the tournament. Players are expected to supply their own controller for the tournament. Controllers may be rented at the event for a fee of $5.
4v4 Gameplay Rules
1. The 4v4 Brackets are a Best of 3 Game Series, Double Elimination Tournament. The maps are chosen during each series by the teams in alternating fashion as described in Guideline #7 below.
2. Seeding will be based on the any results of previous Cyber Alley Gears of War Execution Tournaments played in the past 2 months. For a team to maintain their seed they must use the same team name and have at least three of the same players from the previous tournament on their roster. If it has been more than 2 months since the
last similar tournament at Cyber Alley then teams will be randomly seeded. Any teams who have not participated in previous Gears of War Tournaments will be seeded by a random drawing at the start of the tournament.
3. After losing a series, teams will fall into the Losers Bracket.
4. A loss in the Losers Bracket will result in elimination from the tournament.
5. A team in the Losers Bracket can still win the tournament.
6. The higher seeded team will host
(host can choose COG/Locust) and the lower seeded
team will choose the
first map. The lower seeded team will host (and chose COG/Locust) and the higher seeded team will choose the second map. If needed the third map will be Gridlock hosted by the higher seed. In the Losers Bracket, the team having spent the least amount of time in the Losers Bracket will be considered the higher seed. If both teams
have spent equal time in the Losers Bracket then the team's original seed will determine the map/host order.
7. A round resulting in a tie will count as zero for both teams. However, a map will not be decided on a tie. If a draw occurs with one or both teams having 4 rounds then the round will not count as a win and play will continue.
8. All matches will be played with the most recent patch provided through Epic and Microsoft.
